Issue 4 – Knife Confrontation

A comic book double page spread. A homeless man following a teenager (Jason) in down a street and is arguing with him. Jason is with his friends.

The Homeless Man says: Do you have any idea how ridiculous you sound? How reckless you’re being?

Jordan says: How is it any of your business?

Then, Jordan and his friends storm out of the shop. Jordan breaks off from the group.

Jordan’s friend: You coming bruv?

Jordan: No mate. I’m gonna go make that little weasel sorry. I told you.

JF: Oh yeah, sure you are.

Jordan: I am mate! Watch me.

Jordan is now walking alone down a quiet industrial street.

Caption: 13:56 hours.

Scene change. In an alleyway, Jordan is exchanging some money with a person shrouded in shadows, who is handing him something in return. The shady character who sold Jordan contraband exits the alleyway. Still in the alley, Jordan has his back to the street and is staring at the blade of the very illegal switchblade he now holds in his hand. He pulls up the hood on his hoodie. His evil grin reflects off of the metal of the razor sharp knife.

Off panel, the Homeless Man speaks, revealing that he has followed Jordan to this dark corner.

Now that your friends are gone, maybe we can talk seriously, The Homeless Man says.

Jordan: You again? Are you just following me around or something?

Homeless Man: Give me the knife.

Jordan: Hop it, you weirdo!

Homeless Man: Talk tough all you want; but you end up killing someone with that thing and you’ll regret it. You think your friends’ll still care, a year after you’ve been to prison? Trust me; they won’t.

The Homeless Man walks towards Jordan. Jordan points his knife at him.

Jordan: I ain’t gonna kill you, just cut you if you don’t move yourself.

Jordan swings erratically at the Homeless Man, who is dodges it easily considering how reckless and uncoordinated the slash looks to be.

Jordan: and stay out of my business!

The Homeless Man has gotten a hold of Jordan’s wrist and is attempting to pry the knife from his hands.

Homeless Man: It’s not so easy to cut, but not kill. Not in the heat of the moment.

Jordan: How would you know?

The Homeless Man manages to grab the knife, and his clutching Jordan’s collar, holding him back and keeping him from trying to take the knife back.

Homeless Man: Aha!
