It happened on Friday, but I was so busy preparing for Bristol Comic-Con (and appearing on Finish Line Comics’ Saturday Morning Comic Talk podcast) that I didn’t have time to write this update until now!

But hey, that just means now I get to share these photos from the event with you, our backers, as thanks for helping to make Zip issue 4 happen!

Bristol Comic-Con was a roaring success, where our table was visited by both new and existing Zip fans.

But before we get into fan photo-ops, we’ve made it into the very centre of this photo collage which is the preview image for Bristol World’s photo article on Bristol Comic-Con:

Dyslexia friendly versions of Zip

Also, while I was at Bristol Comic-Con, someone who visited our table mentioned that they had trouble reading comics due to dyslexia.

After talking to them briefly about what might help make comics more accessible for them, I’m going to be putting together a prototype for annotated versions of Zip designed to be dyslexia friendly.

As we’re in the final few days of this campaign, I’m going to be very busy for the time being, but once I have the availability I’ll be putting together the first prototype and sending it to the person I mentioned above.

If they find it works for them, I’ll try to expand the concept by annotating all of our existing issues.

These will be digital-only for now, as it may take some trial-and-error and repeat testing with as large of a data-sample as I can arrange.
